Introduction and Statement of Purpose

Hello and welcome to mrtgrocks.org, an online tutorial for the installation and configuration of the popular Multi Router Traffic Grapher software. I decided to put this site together because in my quest to learn how to use MRTG, I have found that the majority of documentation found on the Internet is rather difficult to understand at first because leaps are made based on assumptions that the user already knows a great deal about MRTG and about SNMP, which is needed for MRTG to run in the first place. Now that I've got MRTG figured out, for the most part at least, I've now turned around and created a site which will present my findings and ovservations in a way that is easy for most poeple to understand. True, I will probably make some general assumtions about users' knowledge as well, but I at least want to cover the installation and configuration of SNMP and MRTG from the ground up so that someone with a decent systems administration skills will be able to understand.
